Justice Javed Iqbal visits Ganderbal, takes stock of judiciary infrastructure

Ganderbal, Mar 19: Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, Judge High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and Administrative Judge of District Ganderbal visited district Court Ganderbal and took stock of the status of infrastructure matters for the district judiciary Ganderbal in a meeting here Saturday.
The meeting was attended by Principal District and Sessions Judge Ganderbal, ShaziaTabasum, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna, Sr. Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, Nikhil Borkar, Additional District Development Commissioner, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal, Executive Engineer R&B Division Ganderbal, Judicial Officers and the members of Executive Committee of Bar Association.
During the meeting, Principal District and Sessions Judge Ganderbal briefed Justice Javed Iqbal Wani about the existing status of infrastructure at District Court Complex and problems being faced by the Bar members and litigants due to limited space. She also highlighted the need and requirement of infrastructure in the subordinate courts for better administration of justice.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Javed Iqbal Wani said that no inconvenience or problem should be faced by the Bar members and litigants within the court premises and as such infrastructure needs to be Bar and litigant friendly. He said that matter shall be taken up with the concerned authorities for identification of new chunck of land for construction of new court complex or in the alternative, to work on the already existing file regarding Custodian Land.
He assured that the matter shall be taken up with the U.T Authorities on a priority basis so that the infrastructural problems being faced by the Judicial Officers/ Official/Members of the Bar and Litigants is redressed for future.
The matter about renovation of existing court complex was also taken up in the meeting with Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and Executive Engineer R&B Division Ganderbal for sorting out the renovations needed to be done for making the existing complex fully functional and making the necessary renovations of District Court Complex Ganderbal.
As the file regarding renovation of existing Court Complex is pending before Department of Law, Justice & parliamentary Affairs, Justice Javed Iqbal Wani assured that the matter shall be taken up with the Secretary Law, Justice & parliamentary Affairs for speeding up the file and granting necessary approval.
