Srinagar, Mar 24: Public Health Workers (FMPHW) of the Family Welfare Department Thursday staged a protest in Srinagar, demanding an immediate release of their pending salaries, which according to them is withheld from the past four months.
The health workers from different districts assembled at Press Enclave and staged a protest against the authorities for the delay in releasing their monthly salaries.
A protesting worker said, “We are the backbone for the health department but it’s unfortunate that we are being forced to stage a protest for our salaries.”
“We have taken loans from banks and in absence of the salaries, we are unable to pay the monthly EMIs. We are not in a position to pay regular School and College fees of our children,” they said and demanded the government to look into the matter and release their pending salaries at an earliest.
