Ensure availability of public transport

The government had passed a strict direction to the people associated with brick business, asking them to adhere to the fresh rate list in which Rs 21000 were fixed for a single truck load here in the Valley. However, the situation continued to remain unchanged in the ground as the reports suggest that the brick kiln owners continue to sell one truck load at the cost of above Rs 34000 here, leaving the consumers to lurch at large. The sufferings of people continue to mount as there has been no strict action against the brick kiln owners for not adhering to the fixed rate list. Moreover, the situation besides creating hurdles for the people who are constructing their buildings, has added to the miseries of the brick kiln owners as well with reports suggesting that the people here are now opting to use Punjab bricks that arrive here at the same cost and also are better in quality compared to the local bricks. The non-seriousness by the brick kiln owners is now affecting their livelihood and thus would certainly hit the trade in the Valley. In order to ensure the livelihood of people is not affected, there is a need to revise the rates and adhere to the government fixed rates so that the local bricks would continue to sell without any halt and the people who are associated with the business would continue to earn bread and butter for their respective families.
