Discuss various issues, demand direct air connectivity to Jeddah, Dubai

Srinagar, Apr 5: A business delegation from Jammu and Kashmir met Prime Minister Narendra Modion Tuesday at New Delhi.
The delegation include Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, President, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Inc), Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya, Chairman, Hoteliers Club, Chowdhary Mohammad Showkat, President, J&K Hotel & Restaurant Association, Baldev Singh Rana, Chairman, PHD, Kashmir Chapter and few business persons and highlighted the urgent issues of business community of Jammu & Kashmir.
The meeting was coordinated by Dr. Darakshan Andrabi, Chairperson, WAKF Board, J&K, a statement issued said.
Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, President, KCC&I gave an overview of the state of the economy, various issues and presented detailed memorandum to the Prime Minister.
Demand of direct air connectivity to Jeddah/Dubai was made and revival of businesses was discussed in length and measures to encourage to local industry/business so that people at large are engaged in business activities and will address the employment issue, the statement said.
Three decades of turmoil and demand was made to settle the downgraded accounts for better tomorrow. Land related issues be it Roshni or lease land at Gulmarg & Pahalgam was also discussed.
Establishing of Model Carpet Village was discussed in length and Prime Minister assured full support to promote GI tagged Kashmir Carpets worldwide.
The Prime Minister assured that due attention shall be given to the demands made by the delegation.
