Police arrest narcotics smuggler in Kupwara

Srinagar, Apr 6: Police have arrested a narcotics smuggler in Kupwara and recovered narcotics from his possession.
Acting on specific input regarding the narcotic smuggling, Police have arrested a narcotics smuggler identified as Rafaqat Khursheed son of Khursheed Ahmad resident of Gabdoori Nawagabra Karnah. During questioning, he confessed that he has received a consignment of narcotics from across the LoC to be transported to other parts of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and beyond. He further disclosed that he had concealed the narcotics in a Forest area in Hajitra. Police alongwith concerned Magistrate upon this information, raided the specific spot and recovered 2.2Kgs of Brown Sugar concealed in three packets.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 18/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Karnah and further investigation initiated. More arrests are expected in the case.
