Budgam, Apr 13: Doodhpathri in Budgam is drawing a huge crowd of tourists with the last three months witnessing 22456 tourist arrivals.
According to data, the first three months of last year saw 9110 visitors, reflecting more than double arrivals this year so far. It said that December 2020 saw 1044 tourists while this year in December 2021, 4150 tourists visited the meadow.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Doodpathri Development Authority Nargis Suraya said that the increase in footfall of visitors was possible by keeping the road towards the tourist destination clear of snow. She said they are planning to organise events in coming months to attract tourists to the meadow.
An official from DDA said that Cable Corporation has recently approved ski-lift for Doodhpathri and it will give a fillip to tourist arrivals during winters.
