Director Health inaugurates Health Mela at Chadoora

Budgam, Apr 18: The Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather Monday inaugurated an Ayushman Bharat Health Mela at Boys Higher Secondary School, Chadoora in Budgam.
The Director said that the aim of these health melas is to educate people about various government health schemes and provide them best healthcare facilities at their doorsteps.He said that the efforts are on to ensure benefits of health related schemes reach to every household.
He said through Ayushman Bharat scheme every common citizen has been empowered to avail best health care facilities not only at government hospitals but also at private hospitals free of cost.
He said that through these programmes we ensure health scheme benefits reach to every household.
The Director appealed to people to register for Golden cards, avail service of Jan Aushadhi and other health schemes for their better health care and safety.
On the occasion, Health department Budgam also organised a daylong health camp where hundreds of patients availed free of cost consultancy and free medicine.
Senior doctors, staff of paramedics and technicians held health check up of hundreds of patients related to Gynae, ENT, Eye, Child Health specialty, skin, general medicine, ortho, general surgery and dental check up on the occasion.
The patients also availed free medicine at first aid counter, child vaccination, while facilities like family welfare, Ayush, RBSK, RNTCP were also provided to the general public.
The Director inspected all facilities and interacted with the staff and patients and enquired about the healthcare facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, CMO Budgam, Dr Tajamul Hussain Khan said that these health Melas shall be held in each medical block of the district to boost our healthcare system and enlighten people about government schemes for their health and treatment.
He said that the mela has started witnessing a good footfall since morning as patients avail both consultation as well as free medicine here.
SDM Chadoora, Prince Noorul Hamid also spoke on the occasion and deliberated upon the importance of holding these health melas for the general public.
On the occasion, a group of students presented a variety of cultural programmes and nukkad natak to raise awareness on Health care facilities and Golden cards.
The Food Safety Office Budgam gave awareness on food fortification and general food Safety awareness to the general public and sensitized on helping the departments in tackling the unhealthy practices in markets. Ayushman Bharat Golden cards registration, CSC and other stalls were also installed for the awareness and registration of beneficiaries under various schemes.
Meanwhile, YSS and Ayush department also imparted sports and Yoga related training and other related health benefit information to the general public.
Among others, BMO Chadoora, Designated District Food Safety Officer Budgam, Yameen Ul Nabi , Principal BHSS, AD Ayush, senior medicos and others were also present on the occasion.
