Srinagar, May 2: The consumers of Power Development Department (PDD) are set to heave a sigh of relief from the pesky power cuts as the department has finally been able to charge all the grid stations with officials stating that the power generation has also increased in Kashmir.
The consumers across the Valley faced tremendous hardships during the month of Ramadan as the pesky power cuts continued throughout the month, especially during the Sehri and Iftaari time.
Chief Engineer PDD (Transmission) Hashmat Qazi said that the power generation is much better than what it was last month.
“The allocation of power was decreased after the demand was increased in other parts of the country. Now, the additional allocation of power by the Government of India has given respite and now the power generation has also increased,” he said.
He further added that the power availability at present has reached to 2400-2500 Megawatts following the increase in the water level in Chenab Valley.
