E-rickshaws- A respite for Srinagarities

The power infrastructure might have been enhanced in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few years in result of which the electricity supply to the people has also increased simultaneously, however, the basis issues continues to remain unattended as the concerned department seems reluctant to address the concerns that poses huge risk to the lives of common people. There are several places across the valley, especially in Srinagar where the electric poles are almost at the verge of fall, thus posing risk to the lives of people. This issue has been highlighted many a times by the media persons from time to time, but unfortunately, nothing has been done in this regard so far. One fails to understand that why the concerned department has ignored the grievous issue till yet. It seems that the department is waiting for any tragedy to take an initiative to replace or repair these half damaged electric poles here in Kashmir. The augmentation of electricity infrastructure will not give a sense of positivity among the locals until and unless these open and grave issues are redressed on time. Therefore, besides taking measures to augment the power infrastructure, there is a need to replace the half damaged electric poles and also wires that poses risk to the people, especially in the City areas of Srinagar. The concerned department must gear up well on time and identify all these vulnerable spots so that necessary measures and steps are taken to prevent any possible tragedy in the future.
