Srinagar, May 10: Authorities on Tuesday stated that the School Education Department has delayed the implementation of recommendations made by the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) to promote the senior lecturers as principals.
The Under Secretary to government, School Education Department Mohmmad Iqbal Mir in a communiqué has said that the DPC in its meeting held earlier in April while recommending 64 senior lecturers as principals has asked to implement the recommendations.
“It is informed that for want of these details, the department is neither in a position to issue promotion orders in favour of these 64 senior lecturers nor utilize these vacancies for consideration of promotion for the officers next in line,” it reads.
Mir said that in this regard, he was directed to request the DSEK to provide the requisite information as per the records that may be available with the directorates of school education, CEOs concerned.
“If needed, publish a notice to this effect again in the two leading dailies for seeking the response from the senior lecturers under question, mentioning further that in the event of failure to provide the requisite details,” it reads.
Mir further said that it shall be recommended to the Administrative Department to cancel the recommendations made in their favour and utilize the resultant vacancies of principals for considering promotion of the eligible officers.
