DC Srinagar holds Block Diwas at Fakir Gujri

Srinagar, May 25: To reach out to the common people in the rural areas of the district to address their grievances, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday undertook an extensive tour of remote/ hilly area of Srinagar district and presided over a Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Fakir Gujri in Harwan Panchayat Block under weekly Block Diwas.
During the Grievance Redressal Camp, PRI representatives, Public delegations and scores of individuals projected various issues and demands before the DC including installation of Mobile Tower, providing Medical staff for the local PHC, upgradation & macdamization of roads, augmentation of water supply, providing of banking facility, timely sanction of IAY cases, construction of boundary and retention walls and other issues.
After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp.
He also assured the people of Fakir Gujri and other areas of Harwan Block that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be taken up with concerned authorities on priority.
The DC also gave on the spot directions to the concerned officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.
The DC asked the unemployed youth to come forward and take benefit from different Government self-employment schemes to earn a dignified livelihood for themselves and their family.
Later, the DC inspected Mashroom Cultivation Unit in the area set up by local youth with the help of the Agriculture Department.
On the occasion, the local people expressed their gratitude to the District Administration Srinagar for holding Block Diwas in Fakir Gujri. They also thanked the DC for fulfilling their long pending demands.
General Manager DIC, Hameeda Akhtar, Deputy Director Employment, Rouf-ul-Rehman, Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, Assistant Commissioner Development, Syed Farooq, SDM East, Murtaza Ahmad, Chief Agriculture Officer, Mohammad Younis Chowdhary,Chief Education Officer, Manzoor Ahmad, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Jameel Ahmad, District Social Welfare Officer, Akoon Ashraf, Lead District Manager, Abdul Majeed, District Panchayat Officer Tehsildar, North, Block Development Officer besides other senior officers and Engineers of the District Administration were present in the Public Grievance Redressal Camp.
