Two LeT militants killed in Kulgam encounter

Srinagar, May 26: BJP leader and Chairperson Waqf Board on Thursday reiterated that the encroachers of the Waqf land or other property in the UT will face bulldozers if they don’t voluntarily end the occupation of the same.
Talking to a news agency, after chairing the budget meeting in Srinagar, Andrabi said that there are no two opinions in retrieving the occupied Waqf land even if bulldozers are to be used.
“Waqf property is the property of Allah and our Prophet (SAW). It does not belong to any politician, rich or poor. Whosoever has occupied it illegally we will not spare anyone,” Andrabi said.
She, however said that they will first follow the law in retrieving the occupied Waqf land.
“If someone does understand the language of the law and surrender the occupied property himself we will forcibly get back the same,” Andrabi said.
She further said that Waqf will also maintain all the shrines falling under its domain. But for that I appeal the people donate generously so that all these sacred places can be maintained well and beautified,” she said.
She said that Waqf will also focus on the education and constructions.
“I want to change the perception of the people about Waqf Board. In today’s meeting many issues were deliberated including constructions, education, budget and rent of the tenants putting up in Waqf buildings,” Andrabi said. (KNS)
