Growing population, growing challenges

The people living in Srinagar areas, especially in City areas here have heaved a sigh of relief after the e-rickshaws have started ferrying passengers from one place to another. It is for the first time that people living in several areas especially from Gow Kadal to Bohri Kadal are witnessing any passenger service other than auto-rickshaws in the past several years. The people had no option other than opting auto-rickshaws to reach any location, but the regular e-rickshaw services in the particular localities have brought respite to the people living in these areas. The authorities had so far failed to ensure bus service in these areas due to which the people were facing immense hardships. However, there are several such places where the passenger bus service is not being witnessed and thus simultaneously affecting the local populace badly. These e-rickshaws are owned and run by the private owners. Nonetheless, to provide more respite to the people, the government should also consider ensuring adequate e-rickshaws, which would not only help the people to reach their destinations, but would also help the unemployed people to earn their bread and butter with the government’s support. Such a step from the government is the need of the hour to assist the unemployed people to earn their livelihood. The government can also consider providing e-rickshaws to the unemployed youth through loans so that they can meet their daily family needs and the people living in city areas would be able to witness the vehicles for their ease in reaching their destinations.
