Several south Kashmir roads in shambles, locals demand macadamisation

Pulwama, May 28: Several vital roads in South Kashmir are in shambles for past several years with locals demanding immediate macadamisation of these roads.
Locals from Tral area said that Hajan-Satoora road is completely dilapidated and the concerned authorities have been turning a blind eye towards it and have not taken any development works or resurfacing of the road in the area.
“Due to dilapidated conditions of the road, thousands of people of several villages are suffering,” they said. “The people have to undergo a lot trouble and in case of any health emergency or maternity cases they suffer a lot.”
They said that due to the bad condition of the road, sumo services on the road have been also put on hold giving more tough time to the locals.
The residents said that the roads have developed potholes. “Even the pedestrians are not able to walk on the route which is unfortunate. The road has become a source of daily inconvenience,” they said, adding that pregnant ladies, patients and elderly are the worst sufferers due to the dilapidated road and they face immense inconveniences.
Locals from Hafro, Nigeenpora Tral said that Pinglish-Tral and interior roads in the area are in dilapidated condition due to which locals are suffering.
Locals from Zainapora and Imamsahib said that roads from Aglar-Zainapora and part of Imamsahib-Mohanpora road are in a dilapidated conditions due to which locals are suffering.
Locals said that they have brought these issues in notice of higher ups several times but to no avail, they said.
The residents appealed to Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha led administration and concerned officials to look into the issue, so that problem will be resolved as soon as possible.
