Baramulla, May 28: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday visited the house of policeman Mudasir Sheikh who was killed during an encounter with militants last Wednesday.
A top official said that the Sinha accompanied by senior officials visited the slain Mudasir’s family at Uri town in Baramulla district and expressed his condolences to his parents and the family.
“Met the family members of brave JKP Martyr Mudasir Ahmad at their residence in Uri and paid tributes to him. The nation is blessed to have such sons of the soil like Mudasir. The supreme sacrifice of the Braveheart will be eternally remembered,” the LG informed in a tweet.
Last Wednesday, three Pakistani militants of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit were killed in a chance encounter with the security forces in Kreeri area of the district during which a policeman, Mudasir Ahmad also lost his life.
