6 persons killed, 7 injured in Poonch, Ramban accidents

Jammu, Jun 4: Six persons were killed and seven others were injured in two separate accidents in mountainous Poonch and Ramban districts on Saturday.
Official sources said that at about 1500 hours, a passenger cab—Tata Sumo (JK14A-3699)— skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge at Barari Nallah Sawjian in Mandi area of Poonch, resulting in the death of four persons and injuries to seven other persons.
They said that one among the eleven persons boarding the vehicle died on the spot while three among the injured succumbed to the wounds later. The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Sadaq (52) son of Ali Bhadur, Shahbana Kousar (10) daughter of Mehraj Din, Munira Begum (32) wife of Ghulam Rasool and Abdul Ahad (61) son of Ahmed Lone, all residents of Gagrian.
The injured, Mohammad Ibrahim , Ghulam Rasool, Sajad Ahmed, Zeeshan Ahmed, Sarba Begum, Habibullah and Layaqat Ali , all residents of Gagrian. SHO Mandi Bashir Kohli confirmed it and said that a case been registered.
Meanwhile two persons were killed when a load carrier fell off the cliff while driver was positioning it to unload ‘malba (debris)’ in Ramban district early on Saturday.
Official sources said at about 05: 30 hours, the load carrier (JK22B-9290) driven by one Tariq Ahmed son of Mohammad Hussain of Ramban rolled down about 150 ft from the road into a river at Kunchi area. The driver and another person namely Suneet Singh son of Doulat Ram of Kunchi died on the spot, they said. The incident happened when the driver lost control over vehicle while reversing it to unload malba (debris), they said.
SHO Ramsoo Nahiem Matoo confirmed that two persons died in the accident and said that a case has been registered.
