Srinagar, Jun 8: Pillion riders without helmet will face stern action from Traffic Police Department, said an official.
Srinagar Traffic Police recently had issued a notification making helmets mandatory for pillion riders asking both the bikers and pillion riders to comply with orders. The traffic police warned of action against those who violate the rule.
Not speaking of pillion riders, even bikers can be seen without helmets riding on motorcycles without any safety gear.
An official from Traffic Police said that cops will be deployed at important intersections who will take strict action against pillion riders for helmetless travel.
He advised all the bikers and pillion riders to follow the rule in letter and spirit. (KNT)
