Pulwama, Jun 16: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing 15 kilograms was recovered from the orchard of Aramulla in Lassipora Litter area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
An official said that security forces today recovered Improvised Explosive Device material in Aramulla Lassipora area of Pulwama.
A senior police official said that IED was recovered following which Bomb squad disposal has been called in to defuse it. He said that further investigation in regard has been taken up.
A police spokesman, in a statement said that acting on a specific input regarding planting of an IED by militants, Pulwama police and security forces recovered 15Kg IED in village Armullah in the jurisdiction of Police Station Litter and there by averted a possible major tragedy.
“In this connection, the joint team also arrested two militant associates identified as Mohammad Younis Mir son of Parvaiz Ahmad Mir and Jan Mohammad Ganie son of Ghulam Nabi Ganie, both residents of village Armullah Pulwama,” the spokesman said.
“A case vide FIR No. 65/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Litter & further investigation has been initiated,” the police spokesman said.
