Srinagar, Jun 20: The intermittent rainfall continued across Kashmir on Monday while the weatherman here has predicted improvement in the weather conditions from Thursday.
The rains continued to lash the Valley for a third straight day, bringing down the temperature in Kashmir.
As per the details, Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded a temperature of 18.2 degree Celsius while Gulmarg, a world famous ski-resort, recorded 8.6 degree Celsius.
The mercury settled at 20.0 degree Celsius at Qazigund while Kokernag, Pahalgam and Kupwara recorded 19.5 degree Celsius, 13.8 degree Celsius and 17.7 degree Celsius respectively.
The officials in Meteorological department (MeT) said that there is a possibility of more rains till Wednesday while the weather conditions would improve from Thursday.
“The weather would start improving gradually from Thursday (June 23),” officials said, adding that heavy rainfall would likely occur at scattered places in South Kashmir and Jammu region from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Earlier, the higher reaches of Kashmir including Amarnath cave, Shopian and Gulmarg received fresh snowfall on Saturday, bringing respite from scorching heat. (KNO)
