Growing population, growing challenges

Yet again the rise in Covid-19 cases has increased in Jammu and Kashmir, creating panic among the masses. However, the health experts are of the belief that there is no possibility of a fourth wave of the pandemic despite the increase in cases in the Union Territory. The pandemic has already caused huge losses and even consumed the lives of people in J&K like the other parts of the country. Such a situation when the cases start increasing calls for taking adequate measures and following the Covid related Standard operating Procedures (SOP) in letter and spirit. From less than 10 cases to over 60 infections on a daily basis, the situation is seemingly taking a u-turn, but all that we need is to take immediate steps and precautionary measures to deal with the emerging conditions. Using face masks and other related guidelines should be once again made mandatory in Jammu and Kashmir so that the virus is prevented from spreading. This is the time when the people need to adopt civic sense and prevent the deteriorating situation from emerging in Jammu and Kashmir. The people should not do away with the Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB), but at the same time, the government should also put its efforts to deal with the situation and ensure that no one is allowed to come out without face masks. Besides, the concerned department should also be directed to gear up and ensure all the arrangements are put in place to tackle any situation.
