Srinagar, Jul 1: Amid heat wave, the Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department on Friday announced summer vacation from July-04 to July-14 in winter zones of Kashmir division.
Principal Secretary, School Education Department, B K Singh in this regard issued the formal orders.
Singh said, “It is ordered that all the government educational institutions and recognized private schools upto higher secondary level functioning in the Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu division shall observe summer vacation with immediate effect from 4th of July to 14th of July.”
He said that the orders were issued in view of the ongoing heat wave and the letters received from the directors of both Jammu and Kashmir regions.
It was earlier reported that the Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department is likely to announce summer vacations for winter zones of Kashmir division from the first week of July.
Top officials in the administration had informed that in the Kashmir region, the department is likely to announce summer vacations for schools in Kashmir valley in the first week of July.
Earlier in May, the authorities had announced summer vacations in Jammu region for all classes from May-23 and May-30 respectively.
