Baramulla, Jul 6: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detected and defused on Baramulla—Srinagar highway near Kutta Mode in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.
A senior police officer said that the security forces including Army’s 29RR detected the explosive device lying by roadside, following which Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called in.
He said that the device was destroyed through a controlled mechanism by bomb disposal squad. He added that the traffic movement was stopped as a precaution on the highway. The traffic was later restored.
“A case has been registered in this regard and police have started the investigation,” he added. (KNO)
