Takes stock of situation arisen due to cloudburst

Ganderbal, Jul 9: To take stock of the situation arisen due to cloudburst at Baltal base camp, the Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq Saturday visited Baltal Base Camp.
On the occasion, the DDC Chairperson interacted with Amarnathji pilgrims, officers, ponywalas at Baltal base camp and got first-hand information about the loss of lives and damages caused to the infrastructure.
The DDC was accompanied by DDC Vice Chairperson Ganderbal Bilal Ahmad, DDC members Mohd Ashraf, Sajad Ahmad, Tameena Adil, Mudasir Ahmad, Molvi Mohd Yousuf, Noorani Ahmad, Rozy Jan, Hakeema Bano and Ab Rashid.
At Baltal, the DDC Chairperson visited the 70-bedded fully-equipped DRDO hospital which provides quality healthcare for Amarnath pilgrims including facilities like X-ray, general ward, OPD, ICU, oxygenated ward, pharmacy, laboratory and ultrasound.
The pilgrims from different parts of India apprised the DDC Chairperson about the arrangements and thanked the government for everything.
They were all satisfied with the arrangements made by the government.
The DDC Chairperson hailed the efforts of Administration, Army, BSF, ITBP, Air force, JKP and other agencies who took part in the rescue operations.
Army and SDRF team are working on war footing to rescue people and trace the missing persons.
DDC was informed that more than 45 casualties/injured were rescued from the Amarnath cave and Panchtarni to Neelgrath and Baltal.
Meanwhile DDC Chairperson along with members have expressed grief over the loss of lives due to flash floods caused by a cloud burst in Baltal near Amarnathji.
