Baramulla, Jul 18: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar who is also Chairperson of District Jal Jeevan Mission Committee Monday convened a meeting at Dak Bungalow here to review the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) across the district.
On the occasion, a power point presentation was presented during which the DDC was apprised that a total number of 229 schemes were proposed under Jal Jeevan Mission and 91 new schemes are to be taken. It was also informed that number of retrofitting cases stands 138.
The DDC also reviewed the status of progress of under construction Water Supply Schemes, Detailed project Reports, revising of Detailed action plan, tendering, work allotments under JJM.
On the occasion, a threadbare discussion was held with regard to various important schemes being implemented in the district for the augmentation of the water supply.
The DDC reviewed the physical and financial progress of the works being executed under JJM during which she directed all officers of PHE to ensure that quality parameters in works should be strictly adhered to in letter and spirit.
The DDC also laid emphasis upon expediting the works while ensuring uninterrupted water supply to the public. DDC directed officers to release the pending payment of contractors in case of satisfactory completion of works.
She also stressed on early removal of bottlenecks for timely completion of all works.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning M Yosuf Rather, Superintending Engineer, District Social Welfare Officer, Executive Engineers besides other dignitaries.
