Coronavirus: JK logs 557 fresh cases, two deaths

Srinagar, Jul 23: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday reported 557 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 2,801 besides that two deaths were reported in the UT in last 24 hours taking death toll 4763.
An official said that among 557 new cases, 275 belong to Kashmir division while as 282 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 289,976 including 286,296 recoveries and 2,426 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 169,568 including 165,684 recoveries and 2,337 deaths.
He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,801 including 1,254 from Kashmir division and 1,547 from Jammu division.
With 165 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 451,815 which is 98.35 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 557 cases today, 157 are from Srinagar, 42 from Baramulla, 13 from Budgam, 03 from Pulwama 22 from Kupwara, 10 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 11 from Ganderbal, 06 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 282 are from Jammu division that include 169 from Jammu district, 23 from Udhampur, 15 from Rajouri, 13 from Doda, 30 from Kuthua , 06 from Samba, 06 from Kishtwar, 11 from Poonch, 09 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,599,563 persons in J&K are under observation while 345 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 2,801 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,591,206 persons have completed the surveillance period and 448 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,018,663 samples are available.
“Out of 26,018,663 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,559,119 while 459,544 have tested positive, among them 2,801 cases are active, 451,980 have recovered and 4,763 persons have died,” it added.
