Coronavirus: JK reports two deaths, 727 fresh cases

Srinagar, Jul 29: Jammu and Kashmir Friday reported 727 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 4,468 while two more deaths were reported in the UT in last 24 hours taking death toll to 4,768.
An official said that among 727 new cases, 521 belong to Kashmir division while as 206 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 292,371 including 287,287 recoveries and 2,429 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 170,988 including 166,836 recoveries and 2,339 deaths. He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,468 including 2,655 from Kashmir division and 1,813 from Jammu division.
With 572 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 454,123 which is 98.00 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 727 cases today, 246 are from Srinagar, 94 from Baramulla, 42 from Budgam, 08 from Pulwama 49 from Kupwara, 35 from Anantnag, 13 from Bandipora, 12 from Ganderbal, 21 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 206 are from Jammu division that include 134 from Jammu district, 07 from Udhampur, 10 from Rajouri, 09 from Doda, 05 from Kuthua , 12 from Samba, 19 from Kishtwar, 06 from Poonch, 03 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,696,545 persons in J&K are under observation while 122 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 4,468 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,686,914 persons have completed the surveillance period and 273 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,101,029 samples are available.
“Out of 26,101,029 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,637,669 while 463,359 have tested positive, among them 4,468 cases are active, 454,123 have recovered and 4,768 persons have died,” it added.
