Udhampur, Aug 4: Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have recovered a consignment of 250 grams of Heroin along with a cash of Rs 1,91,34,030 in Udhampur. Police also said that one person has been arrested while his accomplice died after trying to escape from the spot.
In an official statement, ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh said that police in Udhampur district recovered 250 grams of Heroin and cash worth rupees 1,91,34,030.
“The recovery has been made while a police team was on patrolling duty at national highway near Gole Mela Patrol Pump,” he said.
ADGP added that recovery has been made from a vehicle Scorpio bearing registration number PB08BS-6219, saying that one person was arrested from the spot while the second person was run-over by an unknown vehicle when he was trying to escape from the spot, resulting in injuries to him.
“The injured was later shifted to GMC Jammu where he succumbed to his injuries,” ADGP added.
In this regard, a case under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Udhampur, ADGP said, adding that “preliminary investigation reveals that both the persons were involved in the narco trade. However, detailed investigation of the case is going on.”
