284 persons killed since Article 370 abrogation: Police

Srinagar, Aug 5: At least 284 persons including 174 security forces personnel and 110 civilians were killed in militancy related incidents in Kashmir Valley since 05 August 2019, police said on the eve of third anniversary of abrogation of Article 370.
“From August 5, 2016, to August 4, 2019, 3,686 law and order incidents have been recorded in the Valley while since August 5, 2019, to August 4, 2022, the number of such incidents has come down significantly to 438,” police said, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
As per the data, 124 civilians were killed from August 5, 2016, to August 4, 2019 but no civilian was killed in the law and order incident between August 05, 2019 to August 4, 2022.
“From August 5, 2016 to August 4, 2019, six security force personnel were killed in the law and order incidents while no such incident was witnessed from August 05, 2019 to August 04, 2022,” police said.
Similarly, 930 militancy incidents were recorded between August 5, 2016 to August 04, 2019 while 617 such incidents were recorded from August 5, 2019 to August 4, 2022, police said.
From August 5, 2016 to August 4, 2019, 290 security force and police personnel were killed in militant activities while 174 such killings were recorded from August 5, 2019, to August 4, 2022, police said.
Besides in militant activities, 191 civilians were killed from August 05, 2016 to August 4, 2019 while 110 such killings were witnessed from August 05, 2019 to August 04, 2022, police said.
