There are many complaints coming to the fore about the private hospitals as well as the clinics for minting the public money as well as other issues, but the government has so far taken action against only a few among them while the rest have been given the opportunity to push the patients to the wall yet again. One fails to understand why the action has been taken only against a few among them and why the majority of the private hospitals and the clinics have been left. It is unfortunate that despite the availability of proper mechanisms to deal with the situation, the illegal events continue to take place at the private health facilities where the poor are being pushed to the wall. A few days ago, the government cancelled the empanelment of some hospitals while a few were penalized for disobeying the norms set by the government, however, a majority of the hospitals are still charging the hefty amount and also do away with the necessary measures, directed by the government. It is the time when the aspirations of poor are to be accommodated and thus the action against the hospitals become imperative to ensure that all the directions are implemented in letter and spirit so that the patients get the treatment with any discrimination. There is a need to act against all the erring hospitals to ensure no biased actions are taken against the private hospitals.
