Srinagar, Aug 19: Jammu and Kashmir Friday reported 315 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 3,162 while no more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,779.
An official said that among 315 new cases, 274 belong to Kashmir division while as 41 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 302,132 including 297,021 recoveries and 2,432 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,292 including 170,462 recoveries and 2,347 deaths. He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3,162 including 2,679 from Kashmir division and 483 from Jammu division.
With 480 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 467,483 which is 98.33 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 315 cases today, 103 are from Srinagar, 55 from Baramulla, 28 from Budgam, 14 from Pulwama 17 from Kupwara, 13 from Anantnag, 07 from Bandipora, 07 from Ganderbal, 28 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 41 are from Jammu division that include 27 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 03 from Doda, 02 from Kuthua , 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 04 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,563 persons in J&K are under observation while 149 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 3,162 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,691,121 persons have completed the surveillance period and 352 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,347,378 samples are available.
“Out of 26,347,378 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,871,954 while 475,424 have tested positive, among them 3,162 cases are active, 467,483 have recovered and 4,779 persons have died,” it added.
