Srinagar, Aug 20: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday reported 344 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 2,910 while no more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,779.
An official said that among 344 new cases, 295 belong to Kashmir division while as 49 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 302,427 including 297,562 recoveries and 2,432 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,341 including 170,517 recoveries and 2,347 deaths. He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,910 including 2,433 from Kashmir division and 477 from Jammu division.
With 596 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 468,079 which is 98.38 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 344 cases today, 78 are from Srinagar, 69 from Baramulla, 33 from Budgam, 29 from Pulwama 34 from Kupwara, 24 from Anantnag, 17 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 05 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 49 are from Jammu division that include 19 from Jammu district, 03 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kuthua , 00 from Samba, 04 from Kishtwar, 03 from Poonch, 20 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,385 persons in J&K are under observation while 141 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 2,910 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,691,200 persons have completed the surveillance period and 355 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,356,271 samples are available.
“Out of 26,356,271 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,880,503 while 475,768 have tested positive, among them 2,910 cases are active, 468,079 have recovered and 4,779 persons have died,” it added.
