Budgam, Aug 23: Dilapidated condition of several roads in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district has left the commuters anguished, forcing them to appeal the concerned department to repair and macadamize the roads at the earliest.
According to locals the roads that are in shambles in Budgam include Ichkoot-Pushpura, Gudsathu-Chitru, Nagam- Nilnag and Kamahpura-Budgam.
The residents of the areas said that some of these roads haven’t been repaired since long. They said that authorities have failed to undertake macadamization and widening process of the roads in district since long.
“Driving on such roads causes damage to our vehicles. Accidents keep happen on these roads which also puts our precious lives at stake,” they said. “The gross negligence by the R&B and PMGSY department is the main concern by which the area is not witnessing any fury of blacktopping activity for years.”
The locals of these areas appealed newly appointed district commissioner Budgam Syed Fakhrudin to take steps to macadamize the roads so that they could heave a sigh of relief. (KNO)
