Gurez, Sep 24: Residents of Kilshay and its adjoining villages in Gurez on Saturday complained inadequate healthcare and lack of basic diagnostic facilities at the New Type Primary Health Centre (PHC).
They said that only single paramedical staff is posted their which is telling upon the smooth functioning of the health centre. “Our area consists of about nine villages and only one staffer caters them,” they said. “About seven posts are vacant in the health center and the health department is not is not filling up the vacancies for the benefit of people,” Ata Mohammad, a local said.
He said that the concerned health authorities should do justice to the poor people here. “The hospital is also deprived of medical facilities,” he said.
The locals appealed director Heath services Kashmir to look into the matter and depute sufficient staff to the health center.
A senior heath official said that he will seek a report on the matter. (KNO)
