DC Kupwara reviews status of health facilities in district

Asks officers to work religiously to uphold grace of medical profession

Kupwara, Sep 26: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray Monday said that health care is the top most priority of the District Administration and advised doctors to uphold the grace of this noble profession.
The DDC was addressing a meeting of Medical Officers convened here to review the status of health facilities in the district.
Addressing the meeting, the DDC said that the health department is purely professional service where every medical/paramedical staff has to deliver his/ her best services. He directed them to work with extra efforts so that all deliverables could be achieved being an Aspirational district.
The meeting held threadbare discussion regarding the health services being provided in the hospitals and other health institutions and was informed that the district has a total number of 307 health institutions including one District Hospital, 7 SDHs, 33 PHCs, 24 NTPHCs and other Sub Centres.
The DDC was informed that during the current financial year so far 6,51,559 OPD patients and 39389 IPD patients have been provided health care facilities during the current financial year in the district. While 1231 major and 33220 minor operations have been performed during the said period.
Likewise, the meeting was informed that 378554 Lab tests, 30173 X-Ray, 14997 USG have been done during the same period. Besides, 3236 institutional deliveries have also been performed which included 2035 normal deliveries and 1201 Caesareans.
It was also informed in the meeting that 1262 dialysis and 3383 CT-Scans have also been done in the district.
The meeting also reviewed other health facilities which include Janani Suraksha Yojna (JSY), NHM Financial Status of different components, physical achievements of National TB Elimination Programme, PMJAY, RBSK and Covid-19.
The DDC directed the officers to expand the range of services so that maximum people would be benefitted.
CMO Kupwara, MS District Hospital Handwara, MS SDH Kupwara, JD Planning, Block Medical Officers and other concerned attended the meeting.
