Pulwama, Sep 28: Even after an elapse of around one year, a very vital bridge on Pulwama-Anantnag road via litter is awaiting completion due to which the public is suffering.
Locals from Niloora, Pulwama said that last year construction of new bridge was started, however, it hasn’t been completed yet due to unknown reasons
Muhammad Akbar Ganaie, a local resident said that a small diversion has been constructed there but this road is connecting SIDCO Lassipora with National Highway and very heavy vehicles are plying on this road.
In absence of a bridge, frequent accidents take place near the spot but authorities worked on it for a few months only and then left it, he said.
Parvaiz Ahmad another local said that narrowness of the diversion leads to huge traffic jams as only one side can ply on it and the other side has to wait till one side gets cleared.
Students, officials and other people are suffering in absence of the bridge but authorities have failed to look into it.
Locals said that they have brought this issue in notice of higher ups time and again but without assurances nothing has been done on ground.
They said that apple season is on peak, besides that it is connecting SIDCO Lassipora with National Highway but in absence of a bridge all travelling on this route are suffering.
They requested higher ups to look into matter at an earliest so that locals can heave a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile an official of the R&B said that work on the bridge will start soon and it will be completed within a month.
