Srinagar, Sep 30: The hunt for the ‘permanent’ registrar for Cluster University Srinagar (CUS) has begun afresh as the varsity has issued fresh notification—inviting applications from the candidates for the post.
This is the second time when the applications have been invited from the candidates for the post of registrar of the university. Earlier, the Cluster University in October last year issued a notification inviting applications from the candidates for the post.
One of the top officials of the university informed, “The committee however, after holding a meeting in April this year decided the candidates, who had applied for the post, were not found suitable for the post,”
The official said the move led to the advertisement of the post afresh.
As per the notification issued, the candidates have been asked to apply for the post online while the application forms will be available on the University website from October 1 of 2022. The last date for the submission of the application forms has been fixed as October 30 while the hard copies of the form can be received by the University upto November 4 of this year.
“Hope this time, the committee gets a suitable candidate to run the post of registrar,” the official said.
The Cluster Universities in Srinagar and Jammu were established by virtue of ‘The Srinagar and Jammu Cluster Universities Act, 2016’ and conceived as an “innovative and strategic intervention” in the higher education department.
The infrastructure for the Cluster Universities was supported under the Rashtriya Uchchtar Shikshya Abhiyan (RUSA) of the Union Ministry of Education.
The CUS became operational from academic session 2017.
However, since its establishment, the Cluster University Srinagar had no permanent registrar recruited through a proper process. Earlier, the government would send a senior professor on deputation to the CUS to man the job of registrar. Presently, the post of registrar is manned by a professor as his additional assignment.
