Ganderbal, Oct 4: Seven years after given tehsil status, Gund area in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal continues to lack basic facilities, thus leaving the local populace to lurch at large.
The residents said that the basic facilities are a dream for them as everything that is pivotal for the humans is still not being ensured to them.
The main town Gund is without any bus stand, Sumo stand, proper drainage system, sufficient public toilets, adequate street lights and other facilities as well. The unavailability of the basic facilities has caused immense hardships to the residents.
Locals said that Tehsil Gund witnesses a huge rush of people on the daily basis and due to the unavailability of basic facilities; the people are being pushed to the wall
Besides, the area has only one ATM machine, which adds to the misery of the people, they said.
The members from Civil Society Gund said that they have raised the demands several times with the higher ups but all in vain as the demands have never been fulfilled, thereby leaving people to lurch at large.
The locals appealed the concerned authorities to look into the matter at earliest so that the residents here could heave a sigh of relief.
