Misery of Shehr-e-Khaas

Shehr-e-Khaas, the main city of Srinagar—the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir has time and again facing water scarcity most of the times as the schedule to supply the drinking water has not ended with people alleging that the water supply remains affected most of the times and only two times the authorities are supplying water to them in a day. With the promises of ensuring basic facilities to the people, the water supply situation in downtown areas is outing a question mark over the claims of the administration as the water should have been supplied to the people round-the-clock to ensure that nobody faces the hardships. However, the people are now used to the schedule made by the concerned department with regard to supplying the drinking water facility as only twice they are getting the supply to quench the thirsty. The situation during the marriage ceremonies gets worse due to the unavailability of adequate water supply. The situation is putting the residents in trouble maximum of the times and thus putting the responsibility on the shoulders of the concerned department and the government to put an end to the sufferings of the consumers. With the steps being taken to end the miseries of the people by ensuring development on the ground, there is a need to look into the sufferings of downtown residents and ensure that adequate water supply is provided to the consumers so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
