Srinagar, Oct 11: The government on Tuesday ordered for re-validation of funds under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Establishment of New Medical Colleges attached with District/referral hospitals” for its utilization during the current financial year 2022-23.
The funds have been sanctioned in favour of Principal GMC Srinagar and Jammu for construction of new medical colleges at Handwara and Udhampur.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to the revalidation/release of Rs. 32256.0155 lakhs only, unspent balance of 2021-22 under Centrally Sponsored Scheme,” an order said.
The funds, as per order, include 173 crore for GMC Handwara and 149 crore and 56 lakhs, one hundred and fifty five crore for GMC Udhampur.
It said that the sanctions and clearances shall be in place before withdrawal of money from the treasury, Director Finance, H&ME Department shall vouchsafe the utilization of funds as per the codal procedure/ Government of India’s guidelines.
The expenditure shall be incurred strictly as per the guidelines of the scheme and the conditions laid down in the sanction letter of the concerned Ministry of Government of India and the funds shall not be available for re-appropriation/ diversion at any level. (KNO)
