Srinagar, Oct 19: National Investigating Agency (NIA) Wednesday said that it has filed chargehseet against 12 accused persons in connection with the Sunjwan attack.
In a statement, the NIA spokesman said that today (19.09.2022), NIA filed a Charge-Sheet in NIA Special Court, Jammu against 12 accused persons in NIA case relating to the conspiracy hatched among Kashmir based “terrorist operatives, Pakistan based leadership/handlers and terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), in furtherance to which, two JeM terrorists were infiltrated into India through a Tunnel.”
The statement said that the tunnel had been excavated on the International Border in the area falling under BOP Chack Faqira in the Samba sector in J&K in order with the intention of disrupting the scheduled visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister in the Jammu region of J&K. “The movement of the said terrorists was intercepted by the security forces and both terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in the area of Sunjwan, Jammu, J&K,” it said.
The case was initially registered as FIR No. 115/2022 dated 22.04.2022 at PS Bahu Fort, Jammu and re-registered by NIA on 26.04.2022, the NIA said, adding that the details of accused chargesheeted include: Shafeeq Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh r/o Munghama, PS Tral District Pulwama, J&K, Bilal Ahmad Wagay S/o Bashir Ahmad Wagay r/o Takia Magam, PS Kukarnag, District Anantnag J&K,) Mohd Ishaq Chopan S/o Mohd Ibrahim Chopan r/o Takia Magam, PS Kukarnag, District Anantnag, J&K, Abid Mushtaq Mir S/o Mushtaq Ahmad Mir r/o Putrigam, Pulwama R/o Gudoora, District Pulwama, J & K, Asif Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh r/o Munghama, PS Tral District Pulwama, J&K, Slain terrorist No.1 of JeM r/o Pakistan (Charge stands abated), Slain terrorist No.2 of JeM r/o Pakistan. (Charge stands abated), Masood Azhar Alvi alais Masood Azhar alias Maulana S/o Allah Baksh Sabir r/o Markaz Usman-o-Ali, Bahawalpur-Karachi Road, Bahawalpur, Pakistan, Rouf Asgar Alvi alias Abdul Rouf Asgar S/o Allah Bakash Sabir r/o Kousar Colony, Bahawalpur, Pakistan, Mohammad Mussdaiq alias Doctor alias Abdul Manan alias Wahid Khan r/o Shakargarh-Sailkot, Pakistan, Shahid Latif alias Chotta Shahid alias Noor Al Din r/o Markaz Abdullah Bin Mubarak, Tehsil Daska, District Sialkot/More Aminabad, Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan, Masood Ilyas Kashmiri alias Abu Mohammad r/o Rawalakot, PoJK, CC-Maktaba, Masror, Maqbool Shaheed, Near Markazi Jamia Masjid Rawalakot, Poonch, PoJK.
The statement said that the investigation have revealed that the accused Shafeeq Ahmad Sheikh, Bilal Ahmad Wagay, Mohd Ishaq Chopan, Abid Mushtaq Mir, Asif Ahmad Sheikh, entered into a criminal conspiracy with two freshly infiltrated Pakistani JeM militants and JeM leadership, namely Moulana Masood Azhar Alvi alias Massod Azhar, Rouf Asgar Alvi alias Abdul Rouf Asgar and launching commanders namely Mohammed Mussadiq alias Doctor, Shahid Latif alias Noor Al Din, Masood Ilyas Kashmiri alias Abu Mohammed in the furtherance of which they received, transported and provided logistic support to newly infiltrated “JeM terrorists who entered into Indian territory to execute a suicidal attack on the security forces and other vital installations in Jammu region with a view to disrupt the scheduled visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 24.04.2022.”
