Run for Unity organised at Baramulla

Baramulla, Oct 31: A Run for Unity was Monday organized at Baramulla to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) jointly by the Sector Headquarter Border Security Force, Baramulla, J&K Police, CRPF and Peace Foundation to promote the spirit of national unity among the people and to pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhai Patel who was architect behind unification of erstwhile princely states of India.
The “Run for Unity” was jointly flagged off by Rajesh Kumar, DIG, SHQ BSF Baramulla and U B Billa, IPS DIG(P) North Kashmir in the presence Subhrata Sinha, Commandant, SHQ BSF Baramulla, Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Commandant 24 Bn BSF and senior Officers from Jammu Kashmir Police at Fruit Mandi Kanishpora, Baramulla.
The Run culminated at Govt Degree College Baramulla. Approximately 300 participants participated in the Run. All participants participated in the event with full of zeal and enthusiasm. In this Run apart from members of BSF, J&K Police, CRPF, members of J&K Peace Foundation, students from Govt Degree College Baramulla and persons from civil society have also participated with great zeal.
Rajesh Kumar, DIG Sector HQ BSF Baramulla praised the participants and thanked them. He said such events promotes National Unity among the people and recalled the contribution of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel in unification of India.
