Poonch, Nov 3: The army Thursday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch by killing one infiltrating militant.
An official statement of army said that at about 10: am, the alert soldiers of observed suspicious movement of some individuals along the Line of Control in the Poonch sector (J&K), wherein they were trying to infiltrate across the Line of Control, into the Indian side.
“The alert troops challenged the infiltrators and the terrorists fired on own troops,” the army’s statement read.
“In the ensuing fire fight, one terrorist body was recovered along with Two AK -47 Rifles, One Pistol and other war like stores.”
The statement said that the operation continues and the search of the area is under progress.
Defence sources said that a massive search operation is going on in the area there are apprehensions that some militants who are believed to be injured might be hiding. (KNO)
