Srinagar, Nov 4: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Budgam have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
“A Police party of PP Soibugh during patrolling at Warpora Soibugh, intercepted a suspicious person who on seeing police party tried to flee from the spot but police party apprehended him tactfully,” a police spokesman said.
He has been identified as Zahid Ahmad Rather son of Gh Nabi Rather resident of Nasrulahpora Budgam. “During the search, 10 grams of Heroin was recovered from his possession. Subsequently, he was shifted to the police station where he remains in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 376/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation has been initiated.
Pertinently, the arrested accused person is a notorious drug peddler who used to sell the drugs among the youth of Soibugh and adjoining areas.
