Yet again, the Committee of Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools, Jammu and Kashmir has come to the rescue of poor parents as it has decided to restrain the school management of private schools from charging and collecting annual fee for the period of November 2022 to March 2023. However, it has been learnt that most of the schools have already directed the parents to ensure the fee is completed well on time. The directions being passed by the Committee of Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools seems to have no takers on the ground as the decisions being taken are hardly being followed by the private schools, thus leaving the poor parents to the lurch at large. The parents are being asked to pay hefty amounts for each and every thing, which is unjustified, giving an indication that these educational institutions are out to do business rather than giving better education to the people. It is unfortunate that despite getting hefty amounts from the students for one thing or the other, the teachers, who are giving their blood and sweat to impart the education among the students, are not being provided sufficient salary. Therefore, the time has come when the government should act in this regard and take strict action against the private institutions so that the poor parents and students could heave a sigh of relief. Importantly, the fresh directives issued by the Committee of Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools must be implemented in letter and spirit.
