Srinagar, Nov 11: Despite witnessing a dip in QS Asia University Rankings in southern Asia for two consecutive years in 2019 and 2020, the University of Kashmir has not witnessed any ‘significant improvement’ in the recent two years.
QS top universities have maintained that the University of Kashmir has witnessed a dip in QS Asia University Rankings in southern Asia in comparison to the year 2019 and 2020 respectively.
The QS Asia University Rankings states that in 2019 and 2020 each, University of Kashmir had figured in 401-450th rank.
It falls in the same ranking in the year 2021.
However, in 2022 and 2023 each, the ranking of the university has fallen. In these years, the QS Asia University Rankings in southern Asia has placed it in the 451-500th rank.
Pertinently, University of Kashmir in 2023 has been ranked 110 in Southern Asia in the QS Asia University Rankings 2023 that feature 760 Asian universities.
Meanwhile, the KU official in a statement has said, “In the category of Overall Rank, the University features in the range of 451-500 and has performed among the top 60 percent in the Asia University Rankings.”
“At score of 91 out of 100 regionally, the ‘Staff with PhD’ indicator is the strongest one for the University of Kashmir, Srinagar,” the ‘Ranks by Indicator’ of the QS Asia University Rankings 2023 edition shows.
The KU statement further reads that the university has also performed well in indicators like Citations Per-Paper that is 18.5 and Papers Per-Faculty that is 14.7.
