Keep Kashmir connected

The whole education system seems to have been hijacked by some businessmen, who have created an environment of exploitation for the teachers, who despite giving their blood and sweat are not being given enough respect when it comes to the salaries or honorarium. The parents are always being befooled by the respective school administrations, asking them to pay the monthly tuition fee of their wards for the winter period when the schools remain closed in wake of the vacations being announced by the government annually in Kashmir. This tuition fee is being sought only on the name of the teachers as the schools administration has been making it clear from time to time that the teachers working in the schools are to be paid their salaries despite the winter vacations. However, a look at the monthly salaries of teachers in majority of the private schools in Kashmir is painting a grim picture of the education sector. Yet again, the concerned School Education Department (SED) has asked the parents to pay the tuition fee only for the winters, but the department has been evading from its crucial responsibility of ensuring better and adequate salaries to the teachers. It seems that the SED and the schools are in nexus through which the parents are being asked to pay tuition fee while the real beneficiaries are being pushed to the wall, which needs to be investigated thoroughly to bring some respite to the teaching community across Kashmir. Without teachers, the students cannot make their future bright and the nation proud, therefore it is our responsibility as well to speak for them and ensure that the noble profession is given some respect rather than looking for the business tactics of the school administrations only.
