Shopian, Nov 28: Amid power tariff hike, residents of several areas in Shopian district have alleged that the power development department is supplying them unscheduled power due to which locals are suffering.
Locals from Kumdallan, Tachloo, Hajipora, Nagisheran, Check, Kharwara, Kutpora, Nadigam, Manzimpora, Tulran, Kachdoora, Keller and Hirpora area of Shopian said that their areas aren’t even getting power supply of few hours for the last one month.
They said that they are hardly getting power supply for few hours since last few weeks due to which they are suffering
“Our monthly fee has been increased from Rs 113 to Rs 500 but the power scenario hasn’t changed,” said a resident of Keller.
Similarly, another resident of Hirpora said that since last October they receive a few hours of electricity affecting their life.
Locals said that the power department has failed to ensure proper power supply as per curtailment schedule, affecting them as well and business units. (KNO)
