Ganderbal, Nov 30: President Municipal Council Ganderbal on Wednesday lost the floor test after a no-confidence motion was moved against him.
An official said that Hilal Ahmad Tantray lost the floor test by a margin of 5 votes.
He said the councillors had moved a no-confidence motion against the incumbent president on October 25.
After the no-confidence motion, a floor test was mandated for the president to prove his majority.
However, he lost the floor test today after 12 out of 17 councillors voted against him, the official said.
The no-confidence motion was moved against Hilal Ahmad Tantray for allegedly not delivering according to the wishes of the masses and because his performance, operation and conduct remained unsatisfactory.
