Srinagar, Nov 30: The CBI on Wednesday carried out raids at several locations in Jammu and Samba districts in connection with a case related to alleged corruption and irregularities in examination for the posts of Accounts Assistant of Financial Department conducted by JKSSB.
An official said that the raids were being carried out at locations in Jammu and Samba districts.
He added the raids were being carried out at the premises of accused and others including then member of the JKSSB.
Earlier this month, CBI arrested several persons including a police officer and CRPF jawan in connection with Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-inspector recruitment scam.
Meanwhile, a spokesman in a statement said that the CBI conducted searches at around 14 locations including in Jammu, Sambha, etc at the premises of accused and others (including then Member, JKSSB) in a case related to alleged irregularities in the examination conducted by J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) for the posts of Accounts Assistant, Finance Department (FAA).
“A case was registered against 20 accused including then member (JKAS) of J&K Service Selection Board (JKSSB); then Medical officer of BSF Frontier Hqrs, Paloura ; private persons; private company & unknown others on the allegations of irregularities in the examination conducted by J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) for posts of Accounts Assistant, Finance Department (FAA),” the statement said.
It said that the written test for said recruitment was conducted by JKSSB on 06-03-2022. “The results were declared on 21.04.2022. There were allegations regarding malpractices in the examination and Govt. of J&K constituted an Inquiry Committee to look into the same. The report of the Committee revealed the alleged conspiracy amongst officials of JKSSB, private company based at Bangalore, beneficiaries candidates & others causing gross irregularities in conduct of said examination. Certain allegations including high percentage of selected candidates from the districts of Jammu, Kathua & Reasi; leakage of question paper; violation of rules by JKSSB in assigning the task of setting question paper to a Bengaluru based private company and forgery etc were also found,” the statement said.
