Anantnag, Dec 2: Residents of Hatigam village in Anantnag’s Srigufwara are facing a severe water crisis for the last two months with authorities acting as mute spectators.
Locals said that they were getting water from Thalnaag water supply scheme Mehand but with the expansion of both Mehand and Hatigam village, Thalnaag scheme was able to cater only Mehand village.
They said Hatigam village was later connected with the Gangrad scheme and they were receiving normal water supply. But pipes have developed leakages at dozens of spots causing shortage of water.
Locals said that for the last two months, they have been suffering as there is a severe water crisis in the village.
Locals said that they have brought the issue into notice of higher ups several times to no avail.
